A slow Sunday: Ideas for a quiet day with your journal

Sunday is the perfect day to breathe a little slower. To put the calendar away for a bit, and instead find your way into something that feels calm and creative. You don't need to have big plans – just a little paper, a pen and the desire to be in the present moment.

Here you get inspiration for a slow Sunday with paper and peace.

1. Create a ‘no plans’ page

Draw an empty frame in your journal and fill it with little things you fancy – if you feel like it. It could be a walk, some painting, a book, or just quietness. Not as a to-do, but as a maybe-list that feels light.

2. Create without a goal

Find your journal, a page in your colouring book, a bit of scrap paper or just an empty notebook. Spend a few minutes cutting, drawing, gluing or writing. Just because it feels nice to use your hands.

3. Create a theme page in your journal

Choose a theme that suits your Sunday. Calm. Spring. Gratitude. Only the imagination sets the limits. Decorate a page with stickers, words and colours. It can be slow and messy and cosy.

4. Write a Sunday letter to yourself

Take a couple of minutes to write a small message to yourself about how you are feeling today. What has made you happy? What would you like to remember tomorrow? It doesn't need to be long as long as it's honest.

5. Do nothing on purpose

Sit down with a cup of tea, look out the window and let your thoughts wander. You don't need to be productive. It's okay to just be yourself.

Fill Sunday with paperwork

Do you want to fill your Sundays with a little more paper peace? At Plan & Plot you will find Notebooks, stickers, colouring books and Penne, which makes everything a bit cosier.
